The standard size is ¾ -inch (14–20mm) for heavy structural concrete, while ½ -inch (10–14mm) is used for thinner slabs, beams, and columns.
Types of Ballast
- Quarry Ballast: The most common crushed stone, typically sourced from blasting hard rock. Ideal for all standard reinforcement and foundations.
- Machine-Cut Ballast: Uniform in size and produced from cut stone blocks. Used for specialized high-strength structural works.
